- Have Fun!
- Facilitate the fun for others.
- No referees = self-regulation
- Games start at 8:30 on Saturdays and end promptly at 10:00.
- Each team must field at least 2 women at all times (preferable 3).
- If no women show, play no more than 9 men unless the opposing team agrees otherwise.
- Captains must manage their teams.
- Sub fairly. Calm down or sub out aggressive players.
- Dangerous or hotheaded players will be removed from the league.
- Free kicks are indirect and should be taken from outside the penalty area.
- Free substitutions – players may sub out anytime by simply leaving the field.
- Share team players with the opposing team if they are short-handed and you have extras.
- Teams call offsides on themselves.
- Ignore calls from the defense.
- Do not call offside on newbies unless they’re way behind the defensive line and waiting for the ball.
- Rainouts: You’ll be notified by e-mail if games are cancelled (extremely rare)
- Newbie Rules:
- New players wear an armband. Experience players should let them play the ball.
- Help them grow and enjoy the sport
- No slide tackling or dangerous play.
- Play controlled. If you slide tackle, you’re benched for at least 5 minutes.
- If accidental (e.g. slipping), it’s still a free kick.
- Only register players may play.
- Clean up the field after your game.
- You can pass the ball back to your own goalie and they can pick it up.
- No profanity.
- Games are family-friendly. Captains: make sure your team keeps it clean.
- If someone is out of hand, sub them out.
- Captain Check-in:
- E-mail the organizer after each game.
- Was everything fine?
- Any incidents? Provide names if necessary (1st incident = warning, 2nd = out of the league)
- A whole team can be dropped if multiple players are causing issues.
- 3-Goal Rule
- No more than 3 goals per player per game will count.
- After that, support teammates – don’t dominate.
